PTHP Lecturer in Carpentry and Joinery

Hours: Up to 18.5 hours per week
Salary: £22.73 per hour

Macclesfield College is seeking to appoint a PTHP Lecturer in Carpentry and Joinery to join their highly committed Construction team. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of effective teaching, learning and the assessment of our learners and will be keen to contribute to the development of the curriculum area.

Applicants must possess an NVQ Award in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent to at least level 3, and a current teaching qualification to the required national standards (or a willingness to undertake a formal teaching qualification in a timely manner). The successful candidate will have good teamwork and organisational skills.

PTHP Construction Workshop Technician

Hours: Up to 37 hours per week - term time only
Salary: £11.85 per hour

Working as a member of a vocational team, you will provide effective technical support for staff and students within the Bricklaying, Carpentry and Electrical Installation curriculum area, ensuring that the provision operates to a consistently high standard. You will maintain the workshops and its equipment to a high level of safety, ensure stock levels are maintained and issue equipment to students. You will also provide support to tutors during practical supervision.

Experience of working in a construction environment and knowledge of current building regulations, practices, procedures and legislation is essential.

Working within the Adult, Access and Professional Programme Department you will be responsible for delivering effective teaching, learning and assessment to learners on the ESOL program and teaching English to students where English is not their first language.

You must possess a certificate/diploma or level 4/5 qualification in Skills for Life (or a willingness to undertake). It is also desirable for you to hold a degree or equivalent in a related subject area.

It is essential for you to possess a teaching qualification (or a willingness to undertake a formal teaching qualification to required national standards).

Working within the Adult, Access and Professional Programme Department you will be responsible for delivering effective teaching, learning and assessment to learners within the Counselling program across all levels – from Concepts in Counselling Level 2 to Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level 4.

Having a Degree or equivalent appropriate vocational qualification to least level 4 Diploma you will have current membership of the BACP.

Ideally, you will also hold a current teaching qualification to the required national standards. However, alternatively the College will also welcome an application from you if you have recent relevant industry experience and are looking for a route into a teaching role and are willing to undertake a formal teaching qualification.

The ideal candidate will take responsibility for the strategic planning, implementation and maintenance of the College's ICT technology infrastructures and E-learning strategy.The main focus of the post is evaluating the curriculum needs for system functionality and E-learning and ensuring that the College's ILT facilities meet these needs at all times.
