We offer a wide range of apprentice training programmes for people of all ages and across various sectors of industry, giving you the opportunity to study and earn money at the same time.
To join an apprentice training programme, you must be employed as learning takes place through a combination of on and off the job training. On the job, your employer will pay you at least the minimum apprenticeship wage as set by the government. Off the job, you will study for nationally recognised work-related qualifications, such as NVQs (at Levels 2 and 3) and technical certificates, as well as developing competency in a range of Key Skills.
Learning both on and off the job will greatly improve your competency and performance to the benefit of both you and your employer, and will help you to progress in your chosen career.
The length of an apprenticeship varies depending on the job you’re doing, your age and how much experience you have. On completion you will be awarded a certificate of apprenticeship and you can choose to progress on to an ‘Advanced Apprenticeship’ or further study, such as a Foundation Degree at Macclesfield College.
