The Parkroyal winners of the 'Most Creative' award

The 'Engineering - Girls Can Do It Too!' Project entered 5 teams into the annual Lego League Challenge competition, held at The University of Manchester in December 2009. The teams from Dean Valley Primary School, Macclesfield High, Congleton High, Parkroyal Primary School and Tytherington High School were made up of up to 10 girls, between 9 and 16 years of age.

They worked in out-of-school clubs, and had 8-10 weeks from September to prepare for one of the regional tournament events. The competition was even tougher this year, with one of the new schools to the Project, Tytherington High School coming third, just missing qualifying for the next round, with the "Most Creative" award being presented to Parkroyal for their project work.

The animated presentation by Dean Valley impressed the judges so much that it was shown to all of the participants in the competition and received tremendous applause.

The girls really enjoyed their experience and are determined to do even better in the 2010 competition.
