College Students Get a Pizza The Action!

NVQ Level 1 and 2 Hospitality students from Macclesfield College had some expert advice on how to make the perfect pizza from the professionals at Pizza Express in Macclesfield recently.

The group of 18 students had to make their own pizza from scratch, including shaping the dough and choosing the toppings. After waiting for 8 long minutes for the pizzas to bake, everyone ate their own creation - despite this taking place at 10 o'clock in the morning, everyone enjoyed their unusual breakfast!

The session at Pizza Express was led by one of Macclesfield College's own ex-students, Nathan Beardmore, who is now training to be Assistant Manager at the restaurant. Nathan has progressed with the company over the last 2 years since starting on pot-wash whilst he completed his NVQ in Catering. He was also assisted by current Macclesfield College Catering student, Jamie Cleaver who is a trainee chef at the restaurant and amazed us with his dough spinning skills!
