It was a successful launch night for the recent Sound (Track) Art Exhibition organised by Macclesfield College in collaboration with Incubation Arts. All the College’s year 2 Art and Design students produced work for the exhibition held at Charles Roe House to help fund raise towards their plans to make the venue a creative hub in the future.
Guest of honour Stephen Morris from New Order opened the event and commented, “It was really exciting to be involved in the opening of Sound (Track). The show is a fantastic opportunity to see the great selection of work from contemporary artists and photographers showcasing the local art and music scene. It is great to see the enthusiasm and hard work that the students from Macclesfield College have put in. They and Incubation Arts need support.”
Angela Devoti, course leader at Macclesfield College, said: “It has been a fantastic creative unity of artists coming together and something I would like to continue to support in the future with Incubation Arts. Charles Roe House is a significant Grade II* listed town house which has an incredible history. I am passionate about Incubation Arts’ plans for the building’s future and can see this becoming an arts hub to nurture our future creatives. I urge the residents and companies of the town and surrounding areas to support Incubation Arts’ proposals.”
Director of Incubation Arts, Julie Hamer, said, “It has been a great fun experience working on Sound (Track) with Angela Devoti from Macclesfield College and the Art Design Team who have supported the amazing talented students and put a highly professional show together - it’s a credit to them.”
