Second year students from Macclesfield College’s Art and Design course have been busy setting up their work inside Charles Roe House, Macclesfield in preparation for their up-and-coming art exhibition, Sound (Track) in collaboration with Incubation Arts.
Queen of Incubation Arts, Julie Hamer, commented, “Preparing for the Sound (Track) Exhibition, tutors and students have been working so hard on this project and it’s now all coming together fabulously. Charles Roe House is a hive of activity with students putting up their creative displays for all to see. It’s wonderful to see all these young, talented Art and Design students from Macclesfield College showcasing their work in such a beautiful heritage building, using it to its full capacity, and bringing it into use again. We will be opening the doors to welcome the public to share in this original innovative experience.”
She continued, “We are also hugely appreciative of the support for this first fund raiser from Stephen Morris, Dave Haslam and Hot Vestry, along with professional photographers Nigel Maitland, Anthony Mulryan and Martin O’Neill, plus graphic illustrator Nick Oldham who have all kindly agreed to showcase images relating to the Manchester music scene.”
Angela Devoti, course leader for UAL (University of the Arts London) Fashion at the College said, “It has been lovely being back in Charles Roe House working on this special exhibition with Incubation Arts. All the students have worked really hard and have produced some stunning outcomes.
“Music is at the heart of this collaborative project. Students have taken inspiration from their own life experience and the music that is associated with this to develop their creations. Students studying photography, graphics, fine art and fashion will be showing their work.”
