Getting to know the industry

Macclesfield College’s Performing Arts students have recently been getting involved in theatre to further their knowledge of the industry.

Simon Pickford is currently playing Prince Charming in Congleton Pantomime production of Cinderella and already has his next part lined up as he is to play Andy in Brassed Off along with Aimee Jackson who has secured the role of Gloria. Aimee is also currently in the chorus of Sweeny Todd by the Trinity Operatic Society and fellow student Gabbie Boswell is Aladdin as well as being the choreographer for the Gawsworth Pantomime.

Course Leader Sarah Bacon said ‘These students are completely committed to a career in the industry and realise that to make it in the performing arts world they need to have experience of working in different theatres and in different roles. I am impressed with how these three students combine working in productions whilst continuing to meet the demands of their college course.’
