Year 2 Fashion students are doing a special collaboration alongside their course to keep inspiring the local community to shop more at second hand shops and look for more individual clothing...
The Fashion Students are working in collaboration with Alderley Oxfam sifting through the clothes and handpicking fashion gems to sell on in the Autumn. Next term the students will be doing a special upcycle launch in the store which will include live upcycling workshops, handpicked rails and taking over the shop windows - watch this space for up and coming news and events!
Angela Devoti Course Tutor commented, ''Once again it is great to be raising more awareness to the need of sustainability in fashion and to help support charity. This year we will be collaborating with Oxfam - the fashion students have been sifting through the stockrooms to find more incredible second hand finds. The students have also shared some fabulous ideas to inspire the local community to shop better and be more creative in the way we wear clothes. We will be holding a special day at Oxfam Alderley Edge early Autumn and we look forward to letting people know more about this event in the up and coming months.''
Hannah Blackholly, who is a Year 2 student on the UAL (University of Arts London) Fashion course at Macclesfield College, commented, ''We are currently working in the stockroom to find special second hand pieces which we feel should have a new lease of life. So far this is going really well, it is a great thing to do and we have gathered so many bags of fashion goodies already! We can't wait to share this with the public soon!''
