Macclesfield College’s flourishing reputation as one of the ultimate places to come and be part of a creative study environment is getting bigger. The Year 2 Performing Arts students have just successfully completed their Level 3 Extended Diplomas with 10 of the students having applied for and been accepted into universities of their choice. One talented young man has been offered an unconditional offer and a scholarship to study dance. Two other students have decided to take a year out to explore the world of performing arts, one of the students is already working as an extra and the other has decided to move into Marketing. The Performing Arts students have worked very hard to achieve the grades they desired and all of their hard work has paid off now as they take their next steps into their future careers.
Course leader Sarah Bacon commented, “I am so proud of the achievements of the young people on the Performing Arts courses. They have developed skills in dance, singing and different forms of drama and have blossomed in their confidence and creativity. I am looking forward to the students who are undertaking the next stage of their journeys returning to work with the current students to share their skills in workshop sessions next year.”
The Performing Arts students from Macclesfield College’s Class of 2015 have been showcasing their many talents all year round by creating and performing different forms of performance, such as contemporary theatre, musical theatre, urban dance, classical theatre and many more. A taster of what they do can be viewed on the Macclesfield College YouTube channel.
