We offer a wide range of training and development in IT at all levels. We provide a high level of tuition and support on our courses which are delivered by subject specialists with recent commercial experience. We can deliver training in college or at your workplace.

Our IT team is already training in many local companies and large public sector organisations. Employers have been pleased with the enhanced knowledge and skills of their staff, many have commented that following training their employees now require less in-company IT support.

Popular national qualifications include:

ITQ Levels 1, 2 and 3
ITQ is the new National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in IT suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced. ITQ is an individualised programme where the tutor and delegate design the training programme around the individual's job role and employer's needs. The College IT team are now delivering ITQ using e-portfolios to a variety of employees in various industries including: Manufacturing, Advertising, Care Agencies and Financial Services. Funding is available for a first level 2 qualification – see Train to Gain.

A simple and painless introduction to computers for complete beginners

NEW CLAIT
This level 1 course covers basic office IT skills. It includes Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Database, Email, Internet and Graphs. Many units are assessed online with rapid feedback.

ECDL - European Computer Driving Licence
British Computer Society (BCS) IT User Certificate Levels 1 and 2.
The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is a modern pan-European certification in basic everyday computer skills. It is valid in every country in the European Union. In the UK the qualification is awarded by the British Computer Society. Units include: Concepts of IT, File Management, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Presentations and Information & Communication using IT.

ECDL Advanced
The Advanced European Computer Driving Licence (Advanced ECDL) is a modern pan-European qualification in advanced computer user skills. Awarded in the UK by the British Computer Society, it is recognised in every EU country. Advanced units include Word processing, Spreadsheets, Databases and Presentation Graphics.

Foundation Degree in Business and Information Technology Management
This full-time or part-time course will be suitable if you are an adult in employment, or looking to develop skills and qualifications to enter the job market in the business and Information Technology environment. This course is designed to help you to use Information Technology to exploit potential by combining crucial skills to develop an understanding of the inter-relationships of business and Information Technology.

Beginners Web Design using Dreamweaver
This course will enable you to design and construct web pages using Dreamweaver CS3 and Photoshop or Fireworks.

Advanced Web Design using Dreamweaver & Flash
A short 8 week evening course leading to an Open College Certificate (OCN) Web Design - Stage 2

City & Guilds Visual Basic E-Qual - Level 2
Visual Basic is the most popular Windows programming language, providing all the development tools needed to produce fully functional applications. This course aims to provide candidates with skills in creating, testing and documenting software components using Visual Basics.

City & Guilds Visual Basic E-Qual - Level 3
Visual Basics is the most popular Windows programming language, providing all the development tools needed to produce fully functional applications. This course aims to build on the skills gained on the Visual Basic level 2 scheme and introduces database linking.
