18 years of age or above. It is advised that learners have a minimum of level 1 English and maths.

There are four mandatory units to achieve which cover:
Understand medication and prescriptions
Supply ,storage and disposal of medication
Understand the requirements for safe administration of medication
Record-keeping and audit processes for medication.

Assessment
To gain this qualification learners must complete all four mandatory units.
All units will be individually assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board.
