The Level 3 Award in Education and Training provides an introduction to:
• the principles and theories of teaching in the post 16 sector
• the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
• planning and delivering inclusive teaching sessions
• methods of assessment and constructive feedback
Who is it for?
The programme is aimed towards those who are already qualified in their intended teaching subject(s) at level 3 and who want to teach or train students aged 16 and above.
Entry is dependent on an advanced qualification in your subject area (i.e the subject you intend to teach) and GCSE English/equivalence. It is recommended that you have level 2 Maths in order to progress in a teaching career.
There is no examination. You will be assessed on four assignments, including a micro-teach, which are broken down into smaller assignment tasks.

This qualification can help you to progress in teaching/training and support roles roles in a wide range of organisations in the lifelong learning sector. If you go on to obtain teaching practice, you may wish to progress to the level 4 Certificate or level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
