This course will teach you the importance of food safety procedures and reporting and how you can take personal responsibility for food safety. You will gain an understanding of effective personal hygiene practices, their importance in food safety and their role in reducing the risk of contamination. You will learn how working areas are kept clean and hygienic and be able to identify the sources and risks to food safety and understand the importance of keeping food safe.
Who is it for?
This course is beneficial for you if you are working in the catering and hospitality industries, food retail or manufacturing.
If you have achieved the CIEH Level 2 Award In Food Safety it is recommended that you take this course 3 years after completion.
There are no entry requirements although this course is designed for anyone working in a catering setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled and who need to refresh their knowledge.
During this course you will cover the following units:
• Responsibilities for food safety
• Personal hygiene
• Work environment
• Product safety
You will be assessed by a multiple choice examination.
