Course Information

This course will provide the knowledge to manage safely and effectively in compliance with both the organisation's policy and best practice in health and safety.

Who is it for?
Managing Safely is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector or organisation. It’s designed to give managers all the information required to help them handle health and safety within their teams.

Enable managers and Supervisors to obtain practical actions they need to handle health and safety in their organisation. To gain a step by step knowledge and guidance, with a business focus to ensure compliance with legislation.

Entry Requirements
To be able to undertake course report writing.

Managing Safely consists of eight units:
• Introducing Managing Safely
• Assessing risks
• Controlling risks
• Understanding your responsibilities
• Identifying hazards
• Investigating accidents and incidents
• Measuring performance
• Protecting our environment

Learners are assessed by a multiple choice examination and a workplace risk assessment during the course.

Awarding Body
The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health

Follow up courses/Progression
CIEH Award in health and safety in the workplace Level 4 or NEBOSH General Certificate.

Career Opportunities
The qualification will enable successful candidates to undertake responsibility for Health & Safety Programmes in their place of employment.
