The law requires all employed personnel to have adequate fire safety training. This course has been designed to give personnel the necessary information. This course will build your confidence in becoming a fire marshal. This course will provide you with the skills to prevent fire and deal effectively with an evacuation.
Who is it for?
This course is for anyone who has a responsibility in fire prevention.
On completion of this course you will be able to conduct effective evacuations and prevent fires.
There are no entry requirements for this course.

• Classes of Fire
• Common causes of fire
• Hazard identification/risk assessment
• Evacuation for people with special needs.
• Evacuation Procedure
• Fire Fighting Equipment
• Role of a fire marshal
There are no assessments; however there is a short test at the end to check understanding.
This is not an accredited course however the College will provide you with an Attendance Certificate.
Follow up courses/Progression
After this course you may wish to progress to a Health and Safety Level 2 course.
You may like to bring a pad and pen should you wish to make notes. You will be provided with a handout. For this course you may need some knowledge on the fire procedures at work/location.
