Course Information

Overview
This course provides an excellent and varied programme giving access to Higher Education or to a wide variety of Media Production careers. You will develop skills, knowledge and understanding in Creative Media Production and apply your learning in a practical and realistic way. This course will also prepare you for a career in the Media Industry and enable you to build a substantial portfolio of work.

Overview
With Electronic music taking over the charts, why not stay ahead of the latest trends and develop your electronic music production skills and techniques. Using Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) technology, you will learn to produce and remix electronic music in various styles.

Outcome
On successful completion of this course you will gain an ABC Diploma in Foundation Studies: Art, Design and Media qualification.

Entry Requirements
You must be aged 19 or over.

Entry Requirements
For this course you will need to be at least 18 years of age by the end of the first term of entry and will have achieved one of the following:
• 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above to include English Language and Maths, plus an A Level in a Media related subject at grade C or above
• Or an equivalent Level 3 BTEC or UAL Qualification.

Content
This course will encourage you to develop creative and manipulative skills in response to
Creative media briefs in a practical and theoretical way.

During this course you will cover the following areas:
• Creative Outcomes
• TV Production
• Studio based shooting
• Photography
• Graphic design
• Motion Graphic Production
• Digital imaging
• Individual creative Project
• Show reel production for progression
• Contextual awareness in Creative Media Production


An integral part of the course is the agreement to be a member of the Big Macc productions, production Crew. This is an in house production company that provides Creative Media solutions to external clients.

Assessment
Formal assessment during the first two terms will allow you to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses and assist you to make the appropriate applications to Higher Education. There is a final major project assessed by exhibition.
The certificate is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction and is available as an overall Level 3 or Level 4 qualification. The course is validated by the National Board for Foundation Studies
